About the work

Inspired by the guaraná (Paullinia cupana) and by Amazonian systems of knowledge, SeedEye translates intangible processes into a spatial and sensorial experience.

The work draws on Sateré-Mawé cosmology, in which the body of a curumim (a young boy) is given to the earth by his mother, who prophesies that he will become a source of wisdom for his people. From this act begins a labyrinth of ontological transformations: the planting of his own eye opens a cycle in which death, growth and vision become one movement.

Organic and geometric forms unfold between cell, plant and cosmos, reorganizing as in germination and the circulation of energy. These patterns emerge as code: a visual technology that predates computation, suggesting that ancestral knowledge already operated as a sophisticated way of reading the world.
